International Democracy Diploma

IT is more than obvious, that as you need a driver's license to drive a car, you need a diploma to be a politician.

It's clear that the proposition here is a new way of thinking ,while establishing a Candidate's Diploma, for everyone who wants to join the parliament or an administrative political position, even it is obvious, it is yet a challenge.

We propose a six months training, mandatory, for everyone who gets involved and pursuits a position in the parliament or a position in an administrative political public position. The training will include an education on every crucial sector.

The candidate's diploma should contain knowledge of economics, lawmaking, technology, sciences, defense, administration, history, international affairs, education, marketing emergency psychology, public health energy and enviroment.

This diploma should be easily obtained by anyone and be useful to everybody.

These courses should be accessible through out the Internet following the model of the MOOCs.

If we want the members of the parliaments to really participate and not just support and obey the recommendations of their party, they should be educated in all aspects and fields and at least understand the terminology.

We may take the best doctor and involve him in a voting outside his speciality, what do we expect? He will just ask the experts and trust the experts and his vote will be just an acknowledgment or acceptance and not real participation. So what we really do, till now, is placing a brilliant and creative person in an awkward position. Demanding to decide upon things that nearly doesn't understand at all.

So as every job needs a license and a diploma, why not a democracy diploma for the members of the parliament and for high hierarchy political positions?

Someone can be a great lawyer, but at the same time to know nothing about economics.

Someone else can be great in finance but to know nothing regarding education.

We need to give them the tools to make decisions.

The candidate must be obligated to earn a "Candidate's diploma" in order to join the parliament or a political public administrative position. If we want our democracy to be smart we need to educate our representatives in the parliament, so they can learn from the past experiences and understand different fields and sectors of society.

It should combine knowledge from all fields and actually try to reveal how all sectors work together and their usefulness.

This diploma should be useful for the candidates, for the complexity of the issues that they will face during their incumbency. A solid experience that will describe how things work together make them more wholesome and ready for decisions by using facts.

This Diploma can be called the Ca.Di. Candidate's Diploma.

In more detail we propose a six months training:

One month Economics: Macro - Economics , Micro- Economics , Finance.

One month Law: Local and International

One month Agricultural and Animal production.

One month Defense and Foreign Policy

One month Education and Public Health

One month Energy and Environment

The platform of lessons can be organized by each country and with the optional involvement of the United Nations and Universities with experience on MOOCs also the local Authorities.

That could provide a model. Also the model can be standardized globally and every country can add their part depending their local needs.

An International Democracy Diploma could be the basis of a common language and also what we call common sense.

Many times we were asked why we need an extra diploma as most of the candidate's are lawyers, and lawyers now very well about laws and this is the main part of the parliament.

From the analysis above it seems that law is only part of the skills that someone needs.

Our suggestion of six months, is just an example, the scope is should to obtain the skills and the program to be effective. The time of the courses can be adjusted to ones needs as it would be on the Internet.
